Rare marble sculpture by Antoine Poncet which includes great ephemera from artist to client in the U.S. Included with Sculpture is a signed personal letter from Antoine Poncet, Book and his business card all dated 1970.
Poncet is a Swiss artist born in 1928, Son of the Swiss glass painter Marcel Poncet, and he discovered his fascination for sculptures at 14 initially with Reymond in Lausanne, then Germaine Richier in Zürich. Antoine was a student at Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lausanne from 1942 to 1945 and in 1948 he returned to Paris were he settled. He had his first solo exhibit in 1956 at the Galerie Iris Clert in Paris. After participating in numerous shows and exhibits he now is a member of the Acadamy of Fine Arts and was president in 2009.
